What are Templates?

Templates (or Canned Responses) are pre-made messages that you can use to quickly answer common questions. By typing "/" followed by a template command, you can insert complete messages without having to retype them every time.

Creating Templates

Access Templates Page

From the human agent dashboard, click "Templates" menu or access directly:

Click "Create Template"

Click the "Create Template" button in the top right. A modal will appear with a form for a new template.

Fill in Template Form

Shortcut to call the template. Example: greeting, refund, shipping

Save Template

Click "Create" to save the template. Template will be immediately available to use!

Template is ready to use!

Using Templates in Conversations

Open Conversation

Open the conversations page and take over the conversation you want to handle.

Type "/" in Message Input

Type slash (/) in the message input textarea. A dropdown will appear showing all available templates.

Filter or Select Template

Continue typing to filter, or use ↑↓ to navigate, then Enter to select.

Edit (Optional) and Send

Template content will be inserted into the textarea. You can edit as needed or send directly.

Tips for Creating Good Templates

Clear Commands

Use memorable and descriptive commands. Example: /greeting, /refund, /shipping, /hours

Friendly Tone

Use warm and professional language. Include greetings and thank yous.

Short and Concise

Create messages that are direct but still informative. Avoid overly long text.

Flexible for Editing

Create templates that are easy to customize for specific conversation contexts.

Managing Templates

Edit Template

Click the "Edit" button on the template card to change command or content.

Delete Template

Click the "Delete" button to remove templates that are no longer used.
